Florists and flower businesses are close neighbors of garden centers, and many nurseries run a florist counter of their own. Retail florists build arrangements to order and deliver locally, floral designers work by appointment for weddings and events, flower markets and wholesalers sell loose stems and bunches, and flower farms grow seasonal blooms such as dahlias, peonies, tulips and sunflowers, sold by the bucket, by subscription or as pick-your-own. Ordering from the shop directly usually means more flowers for the money than going through a national website.

Sugar Land is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sugar Land follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I needed to purchase last minute flowers for an old friend of mine. Her father passed and I wanted to send flowers to her home. I accidentally had her address and current last name wrong. The company went above and beyond to fix MY mistake and instead of just leaving them at the wrong address, they contacted her and made arrangements to deliver them to her at a day and time that she would be home. I was so appreciative that they did that and was so very kind about it. The flowers did reach her and she let me know that they were Beautiful! I am very grateful for this florist and how the company handled my mistake. I know I would have wasted my money if I did not use them. I will definitely use them again in the future and I strongly recommend this florist for any occasion.

I was looking for a (very) last minute simple bridal bouquet. Holly was very understanding and helped me decide on a look. She had it ready in half an hour and I’m so happy with it. Thank you for saving the day!

Holly made a beautiful flower arrangement for a family members funeral! Flowers were fresh and vibrant. Last time I ordered flowers I mistakenly ordered online and the flowers were horrible! On top of that they were very late! I decided I would shop local and I am happy I did! Worth it.

A massive thank you to Holly at First Colony Florist for her incredible work on the flowers for our recent memorial service. The individually wrapped blue roses were absolutely stunning and thoughtfully put together. It was the perfect touch for the day, and I am so grateful for her care and beautiful artistry.
